Hi all,
My backyard is mostly all weeds, very little grass at all so I've decided to wipe it all out and start over. From what I've read online so far, I think this is my approach but I'd love some feedback:
1- Spray Glyphosate 41% on entire lawn. I did a very small practice area two days ago and I haven't seen any results yet, hoping it kills everthing in a couple weeks?
2 - Another application of Glyphosate - either covering everything (lawn is approx. 10k sq ft. I estimate) or touch-up
3 - Mow lawn as short as possible after everything is dead
4 - Rent a power rake/dethatcher, try to remove everything as much as possible down to soil
5 - Rent an aerator
6 - Apply new seed (I'm thinking of Tall Fescue from HD (Virogo brand) as I'm looking for something descent but the super high end grasses seemed a little too expensive to me. Please let me know your thoughts. I'm thinking approx 100 lbs of seed)
7 - Apply starter fertilizer (Scotts) at same time as seed
8 - Apply Tenacity at same time as seed
9 - Apply a thin layer of compost? on top of seed, mainly to prevent birds, etc. from eating it and to provide good soil contact
I'm also planning on doing a soil test. Where is a lab that can do this?
Am I on the right track?

Also, POA Annua was covering probably 80% of the lawn area, hoping that Tenacity will hold that off while the new seed starts growing. One application of it at seed down and another a month later?

2 days you likely won’t notice a difference. About 7-10 days and you’ll see noticeable results.
