Rolled tomato leaves

Post by bmweiler09 » June 18th, 2011, 10:13 am

For a little over a week I have noticed one of my tomatoes' leaves rolling. along with this came very slow growth, discoloration and low production.

Last week it was in the low 90's followed by 1.75" rain last weekend and sunny in the lower 80's this week. The soil is mostly native with compost mixed in, I have added miracle grow about 4 times since planting at a little under the recommended rate.

As you can see in the pictures, I have beside it another tomato plant that is the same species from the same pack of seeds planted at the same time. This plant is mostly unaffected. Most of my searching online has come up with "caused by periods of excessive rain, starts with the bottom leaves and goes away in a few days with no treatment." This is not true with mine.

Any ideas?

This picture shows some lesions and damage to the leaf.

Could be bacterial or insect damage.

Yeah it looks like that in a few places. Some of the leaves are completely fried off. So are the rolled leaves a sign of stress? Are there any remedies for that?

I had this problem last year.

Seems there is leaf roll and also leaf curl. Two separate things. Look into that.

Mine just went away in time. The new and additional growth didn't have that problem anymore.
