Hi I am looking to plant a tree to replace a Sweet Gumball tree. The Gumball tree has been nothing but trouble with it's dropping of gumballs and now it has surface roots.
So I would like to find a tree that is not prone to surface roots, or has seeds or nuts dropping all over the lawn.
I really don't need a very large tree but would be nice to have good fall color.
I am located in SW Missouri. Any suggestions would be great
Thank you

I truly enjoy the Shantung Maple tree...excellent colors throughout the year. Or perhaps a Katsura tree if you can find them. Height/ width vary between the two species
