Will these trees be okay?

Post by ligrass » April 13th, 2016, 12:18 pm

I was at a party over the weekend and saw this. Not sure what type of trees they are. I was told the guy did this himself with another tree and it grew back fine and nicer looking. Would this work with white oak trees? (I'm assuming no).

Some tree respond well to pollarding, others not so much. I can't say that I've ever seen a pollarded oak. But you now know the appropriate term, so just Google!

don't butcher a white oak tree, if it has outgrown its space, cut it down
