Can I fix these?
OK so my father in lawn trimmed them like they were shrubs. We both didn't know better and well he is really tall and likes to trim shrubs. We did this for a few years not realizing they were trees.
Now that the damage is done, is it possible to prune them back to health? If so how? The limbs are super floppy..

They Thuja? I think it's winter snow Wright that splits them. Can you tie them up?

Yeah I've been doing that, but I wasn't sure if that is "the way" or me just ghetto rigging it lol I might look into metal straps, the string I been using doesn't last long so I'm wondering if that's why it keeps happening.

You try using some of that thicker twine type rope?
Thats the problem with Thuja.....they either look awesome or they don't. My FIL in RI just planted 25 of them so i have been taking care of them for him.....wrapping them in the winter and the such.
