Question on Cleveland Select Pear Tree Blooming in October

Post by Jammyster » October 24th, 2019, 2:04 am

Has anyone heard of a Cleveland Select Pear tree blooming in October? Mine is blooming right now and only one branch (northeast side in between a hedge and another branch from itself). I live in the Houston, Texas area. I could take a picture tomorrow.

Pears in general, both fruiting and ornamental, do have a tendency to bloom sporadically later in the year following particular temperature and moisture conditions. I have a fruiting pear that'll send out some blooms up high almost every fall. My ornamental pear has never done it. It's an easy thing to Google, for example. Flowering should occur normally in the spring.
