Are leyland cypress deer resistant?
I always thought they were, and I have 4 in my (deer heavy) back yard that (knock on wood) have been fine for many years, but in thinking of what to plant next (we want a row of 8 'something') across the back of our back yard, I'm reading that they aren't necessarily deer resistant (and even my landscaper said I should spray them for deer, though perhaps he says that about everything as a precaution).
Thanks for any thoughts.

Deer resistant can differ based on location and how hungry the deer are.
Leylans are beautiful trees. But they tend to topple in high wind conditions. That’s why I’d avoid them.

I've had good luck with the dark american Arbs......against deer and growing well in 4-6 hours of sun. they don't get too big

Tru dat to both. Thuja tend to grow better, are equally dear...er, deer resistant (highly, as long as the deer aren't starving, in which case I've seen them eat bittersweet vine), and don't break in winds.

Thanks all. I think I'll go with the thuja green giants.
