Hi,
I'm back again with my endless tree issues. In the begining of 2022, I had my gardener plant privacy hedges using 15 gallon indian laurel trees. about 14 of them in a row. Theyve been thriving and growing great since then.
Today I noticed one of the trees is completely dead looking. It has dropped all its leaves. The branches still are flexible but every single leaf has turned brown and fallen off.
The trees next to it, so far, are unaffected. Looking at the leaves the look brown on the edges and green in the middle.
Looks like the tree was in growth mode too with new buds on branches and all of it has just died off. What would cause something like this?
This is in southern california. We've had unusually cold weather for so cal and also an insane amount of rain, so the soil has been wet for a while.
Heres some pics of what is going on:

I'd be inclined to take that to a University extension office to find out. If you have a row of them, what killed one can now easily take out all of the others...
