Mulching flower material

Post by pristinegreen75 » October 11th, 2021, 3:33 pm

I have a bunch of standard size Siberian Iris. The leaves are just starting to turn tan (dormancy). I realize they are storing energy for next year. I am wondering if I can mulch them now or should I wait until they are just about dead? Thanks guys

Either/or. Tan means they're not photosynthesizing well at this point and are, pretty much, toast. You're not giving up more than a minor bit of energy by mulching them now.
