Re: Knock out roses
I hope so. I planted two traditional roses within the last week. They get watered every day it doesn't rain.

Re: Knock out roses
You can plant any time, but early fall is the best. The issue with summer planting is keeping them watered long enough to establish and leaf burn from direct sunlight. You can use a shade cloth to protect them for a week or so which helps. They will need a lot of water either way.

Re: Knock out roses
Keep in mind knock out roses grow faster than any other roses brand I've had. I constantly have to trim mind to keep them at my preferred height.

Re: Knock out roses
Quick question about this. I'm planting 3 Double Knock Outs this weekend. What kind of watering schedule should I keep for newly planted Knock Outs? Amount, frequency, when to cut off manually watering and let nature take over?bernstem wrote: ↑July 19th, 2016, 10:45 amYou can plant any time, but early fall is the best. Re: Knock out roses
Keep them damp until they adjust, which depends. Ball and burlap roses may take a month or more to adjust. Potted roses are adjusted immediately as long as the top greenery is in proportion with the root systems.
After that, play it by ear. Roses have shallow root systems, but Knockouts aren't particularly sensitive to lower watering levels. I give mine about an inch a week if the weather isn't supplying it.
