Who's Still Dealing with (Real) Snow?

Post by andy10917 » March 25th, 2017, 9:19 am

This is my envious time of the year - I have to watch everyone around me on BL/ATY out in the yard while I still have some serious snow in the yard.

Who shares my envy-time? We're not talking about a little snow in a shady corner - I'm talking about prevent-you-from-doing-anything snow cover.

I'm down to about 50% coverage, and it'll be mostly gone in several days, but with the fresh melt and the ground frozen, it's going to stay a wet mess for weeks to come.

Still snow covered in North Coast of MA. Raining the next few days so it will hopefully be gone.

Still have snow here. Wettest winter here in rockies in since like 83. Snow is mostly gone on the lawn but still have several patches causing me to have to hold back on any yard work. Raking only pretty much.

I've been told that the hills/mountains (I'm at 6000 ft) above me have 24 inches of water (melted snow) packed in the snow. I personally dug a hole up in the mountains about a month ago a few miles from my house on a winter camp out with the scouts and the hole of snow to the ground was 10 ft deep. This not an exaggeration. The melt off is slowly happening now and it's wreaking havoc on people's homes with flooding.

Most years, my lawn would still have several inches of snow. And I'd have areas with show cover through May.

But this year, the snow has been gone for months.

Real snow? I guess homemade snow doesn't count. But even that wasn't possible this year. Never stayed cold long enough to make it worthwhile.
