Ummm, Where Are The Robins???
Generally, I see the first American Robin right after my birthday (March 9th). But this year (plenty weird enough in the Northeast) the Forsythia popped here a little early, but I've yet to see a Robin. I asked a few people around here and all responded with "now that you mention it..." -- so where the hell are they? For those in areas in the Northeast, are you seeing them, and if so, were they far behind the normal arrival schedule?

Way ahead here. I was seeing Robins in January around here (I'm guessing the unusually warm winter here had something to do with it.
Of course, the last two weeks of March were really cold. So maybe they headed south again.

They might be in the Midwest. My backyard has been full of them eating all the worms. I send the lab to scare them away, but he gave up. 1) looks above normal quantity and 2) more fighting between them. I also had 3-4 eastern bluebirds 3 weeks ago. Those normally don't show up this early and are hard to see them.

My house. I've never seen so many in my life! There were at least 20 here every morning the last few weeks chowing down on worms. Usually we get 1-3..

Re: Ummm, Where Are The Robins???
They do seem a bit thin on the ground, don't they this year? Maybe the warm weather followed by the brutally cold snap killed off those that came north early? That happens occasionally, and it takes a couple-three years for the populations to recover.
The swallows are back, though, and nesting over my front door...

Been seeing them since a couple of months ago. They came to eat berries off the Holly plants in the middle of the Winter. And I've been seeing more of them now. No more or less than usual here.
