Took out a deck and put in a patio and need to kill some very large hostas. Am planning on replanting different hostas, around the patio (bit fancier ones). I had some roundup out for killing weeds in plants in cracks in my concrete and hit the hostas a week ago. So far not seeing any results. Used a lot of spreader sticker too.
Got me thinking that if glyophosate acts by interfering with photosynthesis that this may not work this time of year if they have already been storing up for the winter. Is my best bet to just dig them out? Not lazy but have a lot of work with the backyard reno going on.
Any thoughts?
Will be researching the kind of hostas I want over the winter. Be reading a lot of Andy's posts I think. Feel guilty killing them but offered them to others and no takers. Thanks.
