Need to remove grass from underneath Rose Bush
So, some grass has been growing in the center of a rose bush, and I'm not sure the best way to remove it. It's starting to look like a meadow...

Re: Need to remove grass from underneath Rose Bush
Use your booger hooks to yank it, then put enough mulch around the base (maybe a few larger pieces even) it will prevent it from growing up again without squelching your rose. You probably have to plant roses a little deeper anyways in CT than we do here.

Other than wearing leather gloves...any advice not to get injured?
I actually bought some Kevlar reinforced gloves a while back, and the thorns just go right through the spaces between the weave! The leather is better. Are there special rose gloves?
