Found this spider in my shed

Post by Turk » June 2nd, 2021, 9:18 pm

Whoa, I got a jolt when I saw this big guy on the wall of my shed as I reached for a shovel. At least 4-5 inches across (not a fish story!)

Anyone know what kind it is? Shed is bordering a deep forest, we're 100 yards from a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay.

Thanks.

Did some digging, I think it's a "harmless" fishing spider

While we kid, I would probably avoid the shed until I were certain the spider were dead of old age. There's a limit.

I'm a fan of spiders.

In theory, anyway.

I had a wolf spider near my front door for a few months. I left it alone and it left me alone. It ate lots of bugs I didn't like.
