Hosta Question

Post by ECUPirate » May 9th, 2016, 10:52 am

I have a bed that gets very little sunlight, but it's mid-day sun (11:00 am to 1:00 pm). Will hostas grow in direct sunlight for a couple of hours of mid-day sun? If not, do y'all have any recommendations on low growing plants that will thrive in these conditions? I have 2 rhododendrons planted in the bed now, which are doing fine.

There are some Hostas that will do fine in sunny locations. Start with one or two that specify that they are sun-tolerant and see how they do (the signs that conditions are too sunny are wilting or leaf scorching). Work from there...
