My local irrigation place has Double Check Valves that have a confusing label on them.
The label says:
LEAD FREE
"The wetted surface of this product contacted by consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight"
So... does that actually mean that it's "technically" Lead Free eventhough it still has 0.25% lead???
Just confused a little bit?
My local area requires the Double Check Valves to be Lead Free... but these say Lead Free but yet then go on to say 0.25% lead?
So is that enough Lead to hurt anything if it's being installed on the same water line that goes into the house... this irrigation system is NOT set up on a separate meter like some people occasionally do... instead, this is set up on the same meter as the main water line that feeds the house (Double Check Valve will be located in the basement where there is a "tee off" from the main line that goes on to feed the irrigation system).
Thanks!
