Sprinkler Head Recommendations for small area and low pressure....

Post by northeastlawn » May 24th, 2019, 4:19 pm

I am playing around with the idea of replacing my gardena impact sprinklers feed by a garden hose with some regular gear driven pop up sprinklers.

I think i cam up with and idea of how to bury the hose in a mulch bed and cover my small rectangular yard.

The only issue is I did the 5 gallon bucket pressure test someone recommended and I only have about 3.5gpm@30psi coming out of the faucet.

I only need to cover about a 20' radius any recommendations for sprinkler heads with low GMP requirements?

If you buy Hunter heads, they come with low output nozzle attachments.

You might be able to pull it off with the smallest nozzle.

You can buy Hunter heads for $10 at HD. Give it a try. But I think you’d be better off getting poly pipe instead of a garden hose. I think 100 feet runs about $60 at HD.

I would also suggest that you consider gear drive heads instead of impact. They're been more reliable for me, especially when pressure is low. They're also much quieter.
