UV Protectant for Patio Furniture

Post by CarolinaMatt » July 10th, 2015, 11:33 am

Just bought some brand new patio furniture. Got a great deal on it and would really like it to last a long time. Any good recommendations of a product to use to help prevent or make it last longer and not fade. The area on my patio is direct afternoon as hot as it gets sun.

Thanks!

I have been using 303 Protectant for while now - use it on fiberglass boat, seats, any type of plastic, car interiors.

Have been very happy with it for everything.

Their fabric waterproofer/protectant is also very nice

Awesome! I'm glad you mentioned it as that is the product I was looking at via Lowes. Does the protectant protect from UV/Sun and repel water? Or do you need the Fabric to repel water?

303 protectant is only a protectant for hardmaterials

303 Fabric Gaurd - is primarly a waterproofer - with some UV protect (EDIT: I don't see any mention of protection now..)

http://www.goldeagle.com/brands/303-products

From their 'Questions' on their Fabric Gaurd...
"303® Fabric Guard’s is specifically formulated to extend the life and look of fabrics by adding water repellency and stain resistance. It is not formulated for UV protection. 303® Aerospace Protectant is designed to provide UV protection. However, it is recommended only for vinyl, plastic, rubber, etc.; not for fabrics or textiles. Not sure if this-- http://www.goldeagle.com/product/303-in ... protectant is the same as the aerospace one, but I watched a youtube video from them and they were putting it on patio furniture so we shall see.

I'm trying to call the company directly, but no one seems to answer

Yep thats the stuff!

Fabric Gaurd is for fabric water/stain... The regular protectant is for hard surfaces and vinyl

Amazon has pretty sweet prices on this stuff most of the time

303 makes incredible products. Their protectant will also make your interior automotive surfaces look like new. We use protectant mainly with our hot tub cover to lengthen its life (they're very expensive).

I use the 303 on the tires on all our vehicles. Keeps them looking brand new. It's not that glossy wet look either. Just clean black rubber.
