Over-applied Disease-ex

Post by Dargin » August 4th, 2018, 6:30 pm

I just put down Disease-ex (azoxystrobin) to treat some rust/spot issues. I goofed (chatting with neighbor) and put down about 7lbs/k instead of the 4lb/k curative rate. I already watered it in. Anyone have any idea what i can expect in the days to come? Hoping I didn't just blow what's been a pretty productive season so far.

We have a run of days in the 90's starting tomorrow if that's much of a factor.

I'll post pics if/when things take an ugly turn.

I overapplied Disease-ex as well, not nearly 7lbs/K, more around 5/K. I did not see or still have not seen any adverse affect. That was (what soon will be) 4 weeks ago. I did not change any watering and did notice the area improve. Here’s wishing you the best!

Thanks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm not sure how long it would take to see any adverse effects, but I'll definitely follow up here if I notice anything.

The rust will go away. It would have gone away had you left it alone, so I can't miss with that projection. The worst thing that happens with fungicides is that they kill the beneficial fungi in the soil. I would wait 3 weeks and apply a very light dusting of compost or spray with compost leachate to reestablish the beneficial fungi to your soil. Using an organic fertilizer would help, too.

Thanks for the input. Appreciated. I can confirm there hasn't been any visible damage. I'm guessing the micro-herd must have taken a big hit...
I put a Milo app down a few days ago, along with continuing my fulvic/humic acid apps.
