What kind of weed? What should I treat with?
So a few weeds are showing up in my front lawn... it seems to be broad leaf, however I spot sprayed it with Weed be Gone about 5-6 days ago and don't see results.
Before going spraying again, I wonder if this weed is either part of the 1st or 2nd layer of the triangle?
Should I hit it with Tryclopir instead?
When using spot spraying is it possible to mix 2,4D with Tryclopir? Or do they have to be separate?
Here are the weeds in question:

Wild violet laughs at 2,4-D (Weed-B-Gon). Definitely need to hit that with triclopyr.

Got it!
When this happens, what should I do? If i see a weed? because last week I just wasted 1 gallon spot spraying with 2,4D, etc on these ... i will hit it with Triclopyr this afternoon, since right now we are in the 85's ... will wait for temperature to drop

When what happens? If you see a weed, accept it, pull it, or spray it.
Not being one to know or ID your weeds beforehand, you have chosen to follow the triangle approach. You started with the most common, most broadly effective broadleaf weed killer and found that it did not control one particular troublesome weed species. You then moved on to the 2nd level of the triangle by identifying the weed and a more appropriate herbicide to use. This process of the triangle approach is a one-time thing. The next time you see wild violet, you go straight to spraying it with triclopyr.

correct. i was just trying to avoid one of the steps when not knowing the weed in question.
I tried googling it however didn't get the wild violet seems to be pretty common around me though - i see it in every of my neighbors yards

Timmy's answer is perfect. The Triangle was created to avoid analysis paralysis, and now you know how to ID Wild Violets. With time, the number of weeds goes down in the lawn and your ability to identify them goes up. Then you write an article called The Triangle Approach.

I dropped Prodiamine on both in mid March or so... weed pressure so far looks to be less than last years!
Thanks again for all the answers and input

Although the chemistry seems to vary from month to month and location to location, in general Weed-b-Gon Chickweed, Clover, and Oxalis Killer contains triclopyr.
