Feedback for annual application regimen

Post by Fronta1 » July 15th, 2017, 11:20 pm

I'm trying to develop an annual application regimen. Overload of info so I'm just trying to get a rough outline

Apply pre emergent in spring

Apply 2-4 apps of milo in spring and fall

Apply blsc + kh every couple weeks

Apply post emergent in early summer/fall as needed

Apply extra quick release fert app in fall

Just make sure your annual n does not exceed 5lbs/k

1. Is there anything MISSING?

2. Is there anything that should be DIFFERENT.

Thank you for your time and feedback. I appreciate the help.

Why is that?

My thoughts, " hmm ok he must be trying to tell me that's not true"

I'm referring to the average annual nitrogen requirements for cool season grasses.

Are you saying I misinterpreted this? Throw me a bone.

Let's look at the words (I'm not just playing semantics):

"Requirements" mean the amount that the grass needs to be healthy and growing. It is not a synonym for "limit", which would imply a maximum amount. I know of no limit other than your wallet, as long as you apply it in a responsible way (no leaching or runoff). Additional Nitrogen can increase growth and color. I've applied 8 lbs/K annual regularly and 10 lbs/K annual in a year when I was doing both the Philes and the Fall Fertilization Aggressive regimens. Growth was phenomenal.

Be careful and don't overthink things - it's very easy to build and honor imaginary rules that limit what it is possible, and turn a fun hobby into a rule-laden bore.
