I sprayed these twice with with Ortho Weed B Gon MAX Plus Crabgrass Control, since I already had it laying around. Looks like it did some damage but not much. It did take care of a lot of the weeds in my grass though.

Need help ID'ing these and then what product to use on them.

Umm what information is helpful? I thought this was the 101 forum, i.e n00bs...

My first post had lots of words, including what I already tried which I thought was part 1 of the triangle.

Situation:
They are in the landscaping.
The landscaping is filled with pine straw.
We have pulled a crap load but the first 3 kinds keep coming back.
Sprayed twice over 14 day period with Ortho Weed B Gon MAX Plus Crabgrass Control.

OK, first of all nobody checks all of your other posts to learn what your situation is. A post stands alone, or at least the material that supports your question should be in the same thread. I have roughly 25,000 posts and I'm pretty sure you haven't read them all.

Understand, but what is missing? Also, I replied to your first reply with more info but it hasn't been approved yet.

I checked other weed ID posts first also and thought I supplied the revelant information required.

Your last one is lamb's quarters. Quite nutritional. Cook it like spinach.

I pulled up some side by side pictures of lamb's quarters and was able to find a match.
Looks like I need to dig around it to make sure when I pull it I get the root. Since it is growing out of the other bush and probably don't want to spray it.

He made two posts in the same thread roughly 10 minutes apart. In the first post, he described what he tried and what effect it had and also said that he was making two posts because he could only put two pictures in one post.

I saw nothing wrong with the OP. Straightforward ID request. I've seen far less asking for far more.

"It"? All this talk for one specimen? Just yank it, sooner rather than later, before it goes to seed. Learn by trial and error. More action, less yap!

I asked the wife to yank it, she just gave me a blank stare...


But on a larger note, I will try to get pictures of all the landscaped areas that are full of pine straw, pretty sure we have more weeds than anything else.

Just trying to figure out which product to try next.

Would glyphosate be ok to use on these weeds and around all the other shrubbery? In the meantime I have enlisted my kids to start pulling weeds and paying them for how full of a garbage bag they can get.

Yes. Glyphosate is my go-to for weeds around shrubs, trees, and other garden plants. It attaches strongly to the soil, particularly organic matter, and is broken down quickly by microorganisms. In effect, you can count on it to be immobile and non-leaching. Glyphosate is generally only taken up through foliage, but with it attaching so strongly to the soil, know that it won't make it to the roots of neighboring desirable plants. In other words, as long as you are careful not to spray your shrubs, either directly or by overspray/drift, they will not be harmed.

My approach is to spray at low pressure to increase control and decrease mist, but you may also like the idea of making or buying a sprayer drift guard/shield. It's an interesting idea, but you would need to turn it over as you move around to keep it from dripping onto desirables. Too much hassle for me. I'm just super careful with my trigger finger.
