Using play sand to level yard?

Post by Maizan24 » October 28th, 2017, 10:19 am

I'm trying to kill 2 birds with one stone as well as save a few bucks. There's a sand box outside that the previous owners had built. We have no desire to keep it there but the sand remains inside. I want to take the thing apart and put a shed there instead. Since I will have all this sand and I have some very rutted areas of lawn where there used to be trees, I was wondering if I could mix the sand with topsoil to fill the deep spots and level things off. If this is an option what would the mix be of sand to soil? 50 50? Thanks for any help!

I do not have that information. I wasnt planning on doing a fall soil test so I'll probably have to get my answer next spring.
