Need for early spring fert?
Hey guys
Was able to successfully seed TTF last fall. And was able to come into the aggressive nitrogen regime with a final app when top growth stopped.
Thanks to the forum and all of your wisdom.
Coming into the spring I had just planned to let it naturally green up and do my first fert app in May as per the "Lawn Maintenance Schedule" - Bestlawn (author).
Now I hear folks in my community saying that the roots from the TTF planted last fall would benefit from some early Phosphorous. I don't have a soil test so I don't know my P level.
Soil temps are 55 now. Should I just leave her alone until May?
Thanks guys

How are the lawns of those that say you need Phosphorus without having any facts to back it up?

Get a soil test done at logans lab and that will tell you exactly what you need and how much you need. Post it here and somebody will help you interpret it and give you suggestions.
