Rodent control

I wasn't sure where this belongs. If this is the wrong forum, can a modmin move it for me?

I've got at least one kind of rodent and possibly more in my lawn.

I think some are coming from a nearby golf course,

I think one rodent is small and tunnels. The tunneling reminds me of voles, but in my past experience with voles, most of the tunneling was above ground. Most of this activity seems to be below ground. I'm pretty sure it's not moles.

I also found a larger rodent (large mouse or small rat) dead in the street. I buried it in the lawn because I didn't know what else to do with it and wanted it gone before the school bus came. Also, it's organic matter.

I've put out some poison, but it appears to be untouched.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to get rid of these? I travel frequently, so I can't really use the canine iron I'd prefer.

I would shove a gopher hawk in the hole and see what comes out ?

Rats often burrow. I would get some bait stations and set them out

I have had good luck with Protecta RTU bait stations (I have 6 around the perimeter of my house) and TOMCAT all-weather blox. I still have some activity (when I switch out the blox they are partially eaten) but rodent sightings have gone down dramatically.

I was wrong about the poison being untouched. The was one block I forgot I put out and when i checked it, it was almost completely gone. And a couple of others show signs of gnawing. And i haven't noticed new activity recently, so maybe I'm ok.

Thanks, everybody.
