Watering post germination
Hope your all having great success this season.
My tttf overseed is up 2.75 inches and everywhere in between. First mow coming soon. I've followed the steps in the FAQ guide for 2 years now and it's gone perfectly.
This year the weather is very damp with daytime highs at 68, minimal sunshine and scattered showers/sprinklings.
I'm transitioning into week 4 with the guide recommending watering every other day for roughly 25 minutes (my irrigation puts down 1/2 inch every hour).
With the weather the way it is... should I adjust my watering accordingly.... less frequency perhaps? I know that calendars and guides are just that and things need to adjust when the circumstances call for it.
I want to avoid oversaturation while maintaining required moisture requirements for the babies.
Screwdriver tests?
Thanks

If the soil remains moist but not soaked, you're good-to-go -- use your eyes.

Is that the general rule for watering post reno regardless of the stage you are in? I am at day 28 post germination with heights mostly in the 1.5 - 2" range.

You can go with a timed system, but double-check to make sure it's not making it overly wet. The days are getting shorter and you need to adjust as things change.

Hey thanks for the quick reply.
Moving to deep and infrequent now. Adjusting along with the weather changes.
Is it good for these new roots to have it moist a good ways down?
The light infrequent watering until now, I think has just kept the surface/peat moss moist.
If this query is too ridiculous to even put finger to keys, don't worry about it. I'm sure I'll be just fine.
But truly thanks for all you do with the wisdom you expound.
