St. Augustine grass is uneven

Post by Jacobariel » July 27th, 2021, 5:17 pm

Hello guys I am new here and I was wondering how come a part of my St. Augustine grass is not as tall as the other areas and is thin? The grass gets sunlight all the way around the yard with partial shade here and there as it rotates. That area is the only area that this happens.
Will an aerator help if i use it on that area?

No an aerator will not help. Can you post a picture? Usually issues with St Aug involve uneven watering. Put some tuna or cat food cans in the grass in the good areas and the bad areas. Turn on the sprinkler and let it run your normal time to see if the cans collect water evenly. Either too much or too little could be the problem.

When you report back, please tell us what your normal watering schedule is. How often and for how long do you water?
