Will pesticides and herbicides interfere

Post by Cole » July 17th, 2019, 7:17 pm

I was thinking about having a professional service (mosquito squad) come and spray my yard for mosquitos. I don't know for sure, but I believe it is a foliar application. I just sprayed triclopyr on about a quarter of my lawn yesterday. Will these interfere with each other? I'm mainly concerned if it will hurt the grass. Are pesticides hard on the lawn even on their own? I also considered the hose spray from home depot, but i don't like the idea of another chemical on the lawn. Does it hurt anything?

Thanks

In general, herbicides and insecticides don't affect each other. The "does it hurt anything?" question is tougher - insecticides are fairly broad-spectrum and kill many more "non-target" beneficial insects than they do "targets" like mosquitoes. Also, numerous insecticides work on the nervous systems of insects and there is conjecture about whether they have effects on humans.
