The dollarweed is turning yellow and dying.

It's down to quarterweed.

Mowed, mulched a bunch of leaves and sprayed various weeds. Still trying to take out Japanese stiltweed. Acclaim works and it seems that I'm making progress.

Finally got our 1st frost here this morning. Last year the 1st frost was Sept 19.
Oct. has been mostly in the 70's. Some stinking weeds still thriving.....
Fall foliage has been meh.... :nea: Still a lot of green leaves on trees.
which is interesting because in August some maple trees in my neighborhood,
all their leaves turned brown and dropped.
Lowered my HOC to 2" and mulching leaves every other day.
Lots of rain forecast for this week.
Of course when I'm ready to drop my final fertilizer,
there will be no rain in site.

Mulched mowed yesterday along with some spent marigolds and other annuals. Started to mulch some of the withering Hosta bed also. Man!- even with the ear plugs in that sound is unnerving. It's horrible! Any other members who mulch their Hostas' Know what I mean.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I let mine collapse to the ground before mowing them, as they pull all of the energy to the roots for storage. It still sounds bad.

Put down round 2 of Urea yesterday (1lb/k), and it rained. Love that. Today, I applied BLSC and Kelp help. Hopefully, get the microherd fired up for some fresh leaves!

I went out in the dark a little bit ago to drop some urea. I saw that there is a 50% chance of rain at 3am. A fanatical person would have done it at 3am in the rain.

Applied 0.5 pounds N as urea as the November first-ish feeding, with about half an inch of rain expected tonight. For some reason, work today is dead.

Going to put down 1lbN/M urea this evening (maybe upwards of 1.3lbN/M). Seems WAY too early, but temps are there, going to rain tomorrow, and temps will continue to plummet. I just mowed last night. Ideally I'd wait to make sure it's done growing, but I'm making a judgement call here and getting it down before the rain (~.4" forecasted).

In other news. I blew out the irrigation system Sunday with my small-ish compressor. The irrigation people came to day to officially blow it out and remove the RPZ.

Winding things down... I put down my last 1lb/k Urea on Oct 28th. A little late for my average first frost of Oct 19, but the weather was nice and they predicted a lot of rain last weekend that did come. My first frost happened on Weds, Nov 3 with frost again Thurs and today. I'm in the Pause. Time to mount the snow blade and get ready to drop the last N @ 2lb/k.

The big hardwoods are dropping their leaves... lot's of mulching on Saturday. My little Toro Timemaster did a fine job handling the backyard in its first Fall mulching season.
