Ok, my camera/pic is terrible, but you can see the grass well enough to tell it's growing. Planted this small area on 9/11, and noticed this past Friday, 7 days later, that I had some growth going on. Took me totally by surprise, as I wasn't expecting anything this soon. After a week of battling the thatch from hell, I will be seeding the entire front lawn tomorrow. The thatch was so bad in spots that the Bluebird machine wouldn't even dent it. The blades would just skim along the top, and ultimately, the thatch won, because the drive belt broke, lol.
Still not sure how those thatchy areas are going to turn out, but I'm not sure what else to do at this point, and my seeding window is closing. I've hit them with the weed whacker, and I'm hoping there will be enough exposed soil for some of the seed to gain a foothold, eventually spreading to cover the entire area.
