Seeeding, Mowing
I have recently (last week) overseeded a few areas of my lawn. I understand the strictures of not mowing until the new little sprouts are at least 3" tall, but if I did this, the rest of that part of my lawn would probably be over 6" tall by then, especially with the twice-daily light watering. That would be fine in the back yard, but not so attractive in the front.
So I ask you, dear experts, when is it safe to mow the overseeded areas with a reasonable expectation of the new grass surviving the experience? Although I cannot tell for sure, I am confident that no germination has taken place yet--should I go for it now, or will I end up sucking up the seeds? Thanks for your guidance.

I've just been very careful in mowing over seeded areas. Making sure not to turn on the little guys.
But the Hover Mow would surely come in handy.

Re: Seeeding, Mowing
I mow my overseed when it like the existing grass is going to block any sprouts. The way I see it shaded sprouts is worse than a mow. Just be careful on turns and wait till its driest.
