Got some Blueberry and Prosperity seeds. Good to meet fellow ATY member stephensilva1. Thank you for selling me the seeds. This will pretty much get me rolling on a front and side reno.

Spot-sprayed triv/annua areas with Velocity @ the slow conversion rate of 2oz/acre. It comes to just under 3/8 teaspoon per gallon of water for 1000 square feet. Or, for my purposes, 1/8 teaspoon of Velocity in 43 ounces of water for 300 square feet. The half-gram accurate scale and 3rd grade math sure came in handy!

oze - please let us know how the Velocity apps work out.
Mow #5 today, probably should have done it yesterday.

How frequently are you planning on spraying? I'll be starting up in a few weeks on Velocity...oze wrote:Spot-sprayed triv/annua areas with Velocity @ the slow conversion rate of 2oz/acre. I think I actually killed some of the Triv in the back/side with the single Fall application, believe it or not.
Today I noticed most of the Forsythia in the area are in bloom. It's definitely pre-M time!
Had to cover blooming daffodils for tonight since it's going below freezing.

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
After nearly 3 weeks of flu and its lingering leftovers I finally did something besides look out the window, feel so left out with everyone so far ahead. I picked up a bushel of fallen sticks and limbs, pulled some undesirable grasses, and figured I'm about ready to blow some accumulated leaves and mow. I've got some Tenacity work ahead of me so I ordered a bottle, DoMyOwnPestControl is taking 10% off until 3/31, and free shipping. Greening up nice so far.

Spent 3 hrs yesterday edging and cleaning up. Turf had grown over walks substantially more than I realized. Had probably been a couple yrs since I sharply defined the lines with a blade rather than string trimmer.

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
I'll you guys know how well it works. I am going to follow the slow conversion process as outlined on page 16 of the handy-dandy instruction booklet that came with the Velocity. That means the low rate that I mentioned every 7 days until "...the desired level of control is achieved". In my case, I am thinking throughout the growing season, unless/until my lawn is stressed for one reason or another. I also get the implication that this method will not result in total elimination of the triv/annua in a single year.Green wrote:How frequently are you planning on spraying? Dummy!! You need THREE Forsythia - that way you can go with a majority vote.

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Sprayed generic Primo at the full rate (0.6oz/K) on the garage side (area I overseeded in Fall 2014). I have some more seed down there, as well as other areas. But I won't be able to spray any other areas and will just let them grow normally for now. Just didn't have time. That's fine. I got the area I really needed to.
Then I put down Dimension 0-0-7 on most of my grandfather's lawn (just in time for the tail end of optimum, according to the GDD tracker!), except for some areas on the main front, on which I raked and then threw down some seed (CRF/TTPR/KBG mix) and then sprayed Tenacity (~4oz rate). The lawn is already starting to grow...must be that final Winterizer N app. Also measured the former garden area, which I'll Spring reno in a couple of weeks. The rectangular area is roughly 25x21 ft.
Yesterday, bought a Craftsman programmable hose timer at Sears and was surprised with $10 in surprise points at the checkout counter! The timer has up to 6 possible start times per day! I'll need it for my Spring reno projects.

Spot sprayed undesirable grasses. Turned the fuel shut off valve on the eXmark to on. Hope to get all the lawn equipment up and running this weekend and maybe do a spring clean up cut.

Rolled down the hill (slight grade) with my kids when I got home from work. It was a blast!
