Do you apply the BLSC and Kelp Help to the lawn together? Which one is best to help with water not penetrating the soil? I have a tree on the dummy strip and the grass around it has trouble growing and staying green. I think it has to do with the water runoff and the tree itself taking the water away from the lawn.

"Soil conditioner will, over a period of use, loosen soils and increase water and air penetration. Combined with the Kelp Help plus Humates (and/or organic feeding), the soil organisms further open the soil and help maintain it in its looser, healthier condition."

So one is doing it chemically and the other is encouraging organism to continue it.

Yes I saw that in the article, thanks. So if I'm planning to only do one of them and want to rely on the product not addition organic feedings I should side with the BLSC then.

Put down 2 lbs/K (13 lbs) of SOP 0-0-50 on low-input area. Sprayed 2nd Tenacity app on a spot of weedy grass on the front hill (while it was bleached from the previous app). Set zone 5 to water the side front for 2 intervals of 1/2 hour tomorrow morning.

Cut and bagged the front and side of driveway twice taking it down to 2" the second time. I'll take it down one more notch before spraying again and start fallowing

The back is already down to 1.5" and dead so it's gonna be weird not having any grass at all once I get the front down and it turns.

Noticing a lot of stop and stares lately

Looks like a heat wave is coming our way. Set hose end timer to water tomorrow AM.

Mowed, spot sprayed a few weeds with glyphosate. Realized all this time I was spelling it and saying it glysophate. Just seeing how the weeds respond.

Got over an inch of rain and still going. Boy are my neighbors going to scratch their head when the sprinklers kick on at 2:00 while I'm at work. Nowhere in the forecast was widespread rain.

^ LOL

one of the few times my rain sensor comes in handy - although the other half the time it locks out watering when I get .25" of rain while I'm on vacation...during a heatwave.... F !

Got a grass pollen alert for my area, does it mean I need to apply Pre-M?

Definitely need a rain sensor and a wifi controller which you can access remotely to turn off...or just stare at to watch the time run down for each zone

The best (http://www.melnor.com/wifi-aquatimer) sprinkler time since sliced bread for those who don't have a system installed.

seiyafan, do you have this actual unit? I am considering this and wanted "real" world review of it.

Yes, I have had it for a year and I used it on my fall reno last year and spring reno this year. Like I said before it's the best thing I've discovered because it's the only timer that I can water unlimited (manual) number of times whenever and wherever I want. I can start a manual watering in front of my computer at work, or on my phone at work. :good:
The first unit I got last year had a bad valve, when I got home one night I discovered one sprinkler had been running for 4 hours even though the web interface says it's off. The second unit had no such flaw.

Edit: The automatic schedule has 6 watering cycles per each zone, manual doesn't have this limit.
