Ouch.. $250 is a lot. Glad I'm on a preventative plan. So far, only spent $110 on fungicides.

$110 sounds much better. What preventative plan are you on and has it worked?ericgautier wrote:Ouch.. $250 is a lot. Glad I'm on a preventative plan. So far, only spent $110 on fungicides.

I am using Serenade @4oz/k every 10-14 days (sometimes sooner, just depends on weather). It has worked wonderfully IMO.lawndad wrote:

I meant the irrigation, already been spying on your Reno.ericgautier wrote:Are you asking about the irrigation or the reno in general? I'll snap some pics of the irrigation setup when I finish the last zone. In short: 1) 4 zone hose end timer 2) Mix of PGP and MP Rotator heads 3) Polypipe & fittingsbauer time wrote:Have you been documenting with pictures to post in a thread? But it also didn't allow me to scalp lower since it was pretty wet. 1 more zone to go and I should be set on irrigation.

Finally got the chance to scalped for the second time the front reno. Scalped @1.375". Thanks to all the rain lately, the dust was minimal. Spray second round of glyphosate this week hopefully.

Was going to spray whatever is green but was a little too windy today. Been somewhat pleasant last two days actually, could have done a lot but of course didn't do anything except cook on the grill.
UPS lady who always compliments my lawn was at my house for a delivery today and asked me what happened to my lawn...her jaw literally dropped when I told her I killed it.

Got 2 more inches of rain the other night, making it 3 inches this week.
Mowed lower back, side, hell strips, and part of main front. Grass was like 8 inches after 9 days. Pulled up some crabgrass on the side and front. Pre-m barrier is obviously gone now.

Haven't had too much to do, we've been in a drought so lawn was showing the stress. This past weekend finally got rain, it's amazing how 2 inches of rain will green a lawn up.!

Re: 2016: What did you do to or on your lawn today?
Decided to look at the existing irrigation that I have at the house. When we first moved in, I saw it had only 7 zones (for 45k sq ft) and thought it was just for flower beds. Talked to a neighbor that is an original owner to the subdivision built in 90's, and he said that the original owner had irrigation put in and it was throughout the whole yard. The second owners never used it in the 10 years they lived here and wasn't sure if it still worked. I was surprised that after I fixed the pressure vacuum breaker leak and went out to the valve boxes, manually turned the valves, I found heads popping up all over the yard. Looks like I have my work cut out for me, and I still can't find 3 valves, but at least it is something to work off of. Hopefully it will help me water in a few fall urea apps this year.

How are you trying to find your valves?
There is something you can use to find them but I don't know what it's called. My installer connected one piece to a couple wires at my controller and used a probe to find signal in the ground to mark my main and one valve before I put my fence in.

Search underground wire tracer, you can rent them, but I ordered a cheap one off of Amazon. If it doesn't work, I'll go track down a professional one. As for finding 4 of my 7 valves, they were obvious as I could see the boxes in the yard. Just have no clue as to where the other 3 are.. yet. I figure this cheap one will at least work for the invisible dog fence I have if I have any issues with it down the road. It says it can track up to 3 ft deep. We will see how it goes.Tsmith wrote:How are you trying to find your valves?

Finished mowing front. Mowed upper back. Pulled crabgrass, spurge, and purslane that germinated after the rain.

Would be terrible if the two got mixed up, that's why I am always the ONE doing it!ericgautier wrote:Sprayed glyphosate on the brown stuff and Serenade on the green stuff.

Yes it would. That is why I only use my hose end sprayer for the glyphosate.seiyafan wrote:
