Unpacked and set up my new 20V Chapin sprayer to calibrate in anticipation of much spraying on the reno... only to find it doesn't work. Amazon promises a replacement by Sunday :(

I may have made it on the radio today. didn't hear. stopped by our very own local soil celebrity Dr. dirts 's radio booth while he was live broadcasting at the state fair and he talked to my son and I for a bit. Didn't get to talk about soil but he gave me some good rose tips.

Yesterday, mowed grandpa's.

Today, mowed lower back and most of low-input area. Then it rained. 1/8th-inch.

Got my replacement Chapin 20v today. Calibrated with both the brass tip and the fan tip that came with it. Contemplating some Teejet tips. Now... I want to spray something, but I don't need to until seed down on my reno next week. Dang it! Maybe my neighbors need something sprayed. I want to play with my new toy! Er, I mean I want to hone my skills with my new piece of precision lawn equipment...

Lowered HOC to 2.5" and bagged clippings. Looking like Friday after work I will cut at 1.75" and bag again in preparation for seeding Saturday.

Watered side front (not front hill) for a half hour, which would be about 1/4-inch of water. Watered about 1/2-inch on main front and measured output. Changed a nozzle in zone 2. Watered a bit of the low-input area. Pulled and sprayed crabgrass and weeds. Hand-watered area in back near patio that tends to dry out and brown. Set up sprinkler on flower garden in back. Weed-whacked the seeded area, which is full of lots of nice weeds and sedges. Watered it and set the timer back up. Finished mowing low-input area. Blew off back sidewalk and patio. Dug out clumpy mushrooms from the front, dug out a weed, watered pineapple plant twice today, etc...

Set zone 4 for 2x 60 min and zone 5 for 2x 30 min for tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow, all hellstrips, corner of main front near driveway, and another dry spot will be hand-watered.

Mowed today and noticed a good bit of rust going on.
Installed a water hammer arrestor in line with my reno watering timer. When it cuts off the zone the wife says "what the hell is that". This should fix it. I'd recommend it if you're putting a timer right on a hose bib.

I think I was paying attention to the lawn stripes to keep a straight line and not looking for the dye. It was also not showing up very well. I'm hoping to spray the rest tomorrow lol

What's KBTT grass?
My guess would be a mix of KBG and TTTF.

I had this issue as well. I installed a 5 ft hose between bib and timer to resolve my hammering.

I attached a leader hose between bib and timer so the timer can be laid on the ground to lessen the weight at the bib, not knowing this can also help with hammering.

Haha I forgot about that. I put that before knowing what "nomix" was. I guess technically right now I don't have a lawn? LOL

That's a good idea. Between the timer and 4 hoses that's a lot of weight to put on a sweat fitting.

Did you notice any pressure loss from the leader hose?

I used a 3/4'' hose and it's only 6 feet, very little drop there.

Mowed backyard. HOC of 3.5". Plan is to start up the PGR again. Good time as ever since I'm going away for vacation end of the week and should hold the lawn over. Plus the 10 day forecast in the area has chance of showers each day.
