Just sprayed Triclopyr and Tenacity
I just sprayed Triclopyr(Turflon Ester at 60% Triclopyr) (0.67 oz) and Tenacity (.5 tsp) in 2 gallons of water on about 1200 sq ft of Perennial Rye and Tall Fescue which was previously a bermuda lawn law summer...
I renovated the back yard but decided that I'd leave the front yard until this fall and so I put down the rye and fescue seed for cover over the winter.
I could not find a lot of info on dosing when tank mixing the two, just seperate.
Recommendations per each manufacturer were similar to what I used but I reduced the triclopyr dosing by about a quarter out of caution.
Let you know in a couple weeks if its totally FRIEDD lol
here is said lawn before spraying.

Re: Just sprayed Triclopyr and Tenacity
It doesn't even look like you needed Triclopyr or Tenacity..that lawn looks pretty darn good!
Actually, I think everyone thinks their lawn looks 'pretty darn good' until they apply Tenacity and the little lightbulbs turn on all around your yard =( =(.

The PR will light up, but this time of year it grows so fast it will only last a few days.

Theres some annual weeds which im not too worried about, but what you cant see in the photo is small stems of bermuda popping up every 6 inches or so..
My understanding is the Triclopyr will greatly diminish that whitening and so maybe my lawn wont look awful after..
By light up you mean it will bleach from the tenacity or some other kind of visual damage from the triclopyr/both?probasesteal wrote:The PR will light up, but this time of year it grows so fast it will only last a few days.

I couldn't find specific info on this tanx mix on perennial rye so my dosing is an experiment.
However I think I may have underestimated my square footage as I forgot I also sprayed my side yards with the same 2 gallons. Might be closer to 2000 sq ft of lawn
The Rye is by far the predominant turf right now so I'm hoping it doesn't get too knackered.

Yeah, I would expect the PR to be bleached temporarily.

Re: Just sprayed Triclopyr and Tenacity
Hi Zareth: I have sprayed Triclopyr at 0.75 oz/gal + Tenacity at 0.6 tsp (4 oz/acre) per gallon of water on TTTF a couple of times this spring. I think I read on the Tenacity label these were ok to tank mix together.
Agree with the member who said your front yard is looking good.

Glad to hear that! Heres hoping the rye stands up just as fine as the fescue!McLovin wrote:Hi Zareth: I have sprayed Triclopyr at 0.75 oz/gal + Tenacity at 0.6 tsp (4 oz/acre) per gallon of water on TTTF a couple of times this spring. You did a reno last fall too right?
How'd that turn out and how is it coping with our serious lack of rain right now?

Side note, it rained about 4 hours after application, will that affect it at all?

Most likely no. If you added an adjuvant, certainly not?Zareth wrote:Side note, it rained about 4 hours after application, will that affect it at all?

Re: Just sprayed Triclopyr and Tenacity
Yes spreader sticker is an adjuvant. Helps the active ingredients (AI) penetrate more efficiently into the target plants.Zareth wrote:I used Hi Yield Spreader Sticker but that isn't an adjuvant is it?LoneRanger wrote:Most likely no. Re: Just sprayed Triclopyr and Tenacity
It's a tragedy guys.. my lawn still looks great, but I'm also seeing no change to the bermuda and it's still growing.. I hope I don't use to add fusillade to the mix.
On the plus side I made a striper today!

Is that Triclopyr coming from the purple WBG?Zareth wrote:I just sprayed Triclopyr (0.67 oz) and Tenacity (.5 tsp) in 2 gallons of water on about 1200 sq ft of Perennial Rye and Tall Fescue which was previously a bermuda lawn law summer...

We call that "CCO", for Chickweed, Clover and Oxalis Killer.

Not trying to be a jerk - just trying to avoid 10 names for the same thing, or total confusion if they change their color scheme (and they do, regularly). The BL/ATY posts outlive their color schemes by a long shot.
