Re: Drought stress or brown patch?
I'm going to take a guess, but I am by no means an expert. Based on your turf type in your profile (tall fescue), the lesions and rough distribution in the stand rather than spots, I would guess this: http://turfdiseaseid.ncsu.edu/diseasede ... ease=DREDI
But you may have more information, so you can try going to the main site here: http://turfdiseaseid.ncsu.edu/ and see what you come up with. It's a great site. Good luck!

Not brown patch, could be net blotch as oze stated. I would not be concerned about it.

It should. What has your fertilizer schedule been like? I used to get a little of this with my fescue at my previous home.01redcrew wrote:Will it out grow itself?

That third picture has black spots. Looks more like pythium blight than brown patch.

Yes I saw the black spot and didn't know what that was. My fertilizer program was milo down at 3-18, 5-1,5-10 and 5-23 haven't applied anything in June.

Did you notice it starting in circular patches, as described in this quote01redcrew wrote:Yes I saw the black spot and didn't know what that was. My fertilizer program was milo down at 3-18, 5-1,5-10 and 5-23 haven't applied anything in June.

from here: http://turfdiseaseid.ncsu.edu/ ? Some of the lesions in your picture look similar to this: which that NC State site IDs as net blotch.Pythium blight first appears as small, sunken, circular patches up to 1 foot in diameter during hot, humid weather
If you read about pythium blight (and I sincerely hope that is *not* what your lawn has), there are some specific, easy to spot signs to look for in order to identify the disease as such. I have been fighting pythium blight in my yard ever since we moved here 4 years ago, and I probably always will be.
