S#$@ Rolls Downhill?

Post by JHazzardB » July 26th, 2016, 5:33 pm

Backstory: My yard developed a 'streak' in it and it looks like the grass went dormant. Or died. Same thing in OK. We also got a ton of rain last night. At least 1.5". Big storm.

Realization: The rain left behind debris that got rained down from my neighbors driveway. Their driveway is about 2 feet above my flower bed and yard. When the rain came down, the Acorn Channel flowed right into 'The Streak'. I've been under the assumption I've been battling a fungal issue. I think I might be battling a chemical issue from their driveway runoff. What do you guys think?

Pythium blight is know to follow water patterns like that. It also tends to kill quickly. But it would be impossible to diagnosis from that pic.

I pray that you do not have the fungus that causes pythium blight in your soil. I do, and it is a non-stop battle.

I feel your pain oze. I hope you are transitioning to PR with a mold resistant cultivar.

I don't think it's from something that is on the driveway, if that were the case the turf should be the "most" dead were all the debris are on the lawn as it would be the highest concentration of the product.

Got some pics!

Yeah Kmartel, I started thinking a little harder. It does seem like it would die all the way to the flower bed if chemicals were the case.
