I just ordered a new one! Toro SnowMaster 824 QXE. What did you get?
It is a Yard Machine snowblower with a tecumseh engine. A buddy of mine moved south and GAVE it to me. It has only been used twice. Three times if you include yesterday.
I don't know why I waited so long to get a snowblower.

I have been watching snow melt so I can mulch the last of the leaves.

Snowed yesterday, woke up to 5 degrees and snow covered lawn today. Cannot remember, in the 13 years I've lived here, it getting that low. Supposed to be 65 on Friday.

Similar here in Central VA.
About 6-8" of snow with frozen tundra like 0° last night wind chill.
Had to play with some kind of small engine equipment so I broke out my 2nd ytear Ariens snowblower & after 30 mins of trying to get it started (after storing it for a year with no gas mind you) & wondering why it wouldn't - it finally turned over & ran like a champ.
Was staring at my snow covered lawn wondering what i need to do in about 3 month's time if the grass didn't get enough Urea to come out green & is a slow to riser like it has the last 3 years...

bauer time That's the snowblower I have. It's at least 15 yrs old. Only had to replace the Tecumseh cord crank that I bought on ebay for $20. It was easy to install, just unscrew a few screws...
With the usual maintenance in the spring, it's been a problem free snowblower over the years.
The only issue for the last couple of years was the chute kept getting clogged with heavy snow. I heard about the rubber fix but instead I found another alternative.
I spray down the chute, the augers, etc. etc. with Pam cooking oil every time before I use it. In the spring I clean it with Dawn Dishwashing soap and hose it down. Works like a charm.
Paint started to peel so I bought a can of Rustoleum and did a touch up also.

The only issue I had with it is the drive cable is a little loose so when I grasp the handle that pulls the cable, it doesn't get the wheels moving. I actually had to wrap it around the bar once to get it to tighten enough to turn the wheels. I have to take a look and make some adjustments before the next snow.

I started having more digging in my yard recently so I had to set a trap on Friday and captured my third raccoon since October. This one was no where near as big as the second one I captured and more like the first one so Im thinking the second was the mother and the other two were its babies that it was teaching to dig up my reno.
Hopefully thats it but the realistic side of me thinks with the woods behind my house that this will be a never ending battle.
one another note my lawn def looks a little greener with the warmer temps and all the rain recently

well that didn't take long, went one day without digging but looked out window this morning to see digging all around my border...this is ridiculous, I think its time for extreme measures
on top of this my fridge stopped working overnight but I don't have a forum to complain about that so I have to vent about that here as well

Almost finished my cleanup of straw from seeding and the leaves that fell after that. October 2016 overseed turned out not to be such a bust. Still a ton of work to do this spring but at least I've got something to work with.

Looks beautiful
I'm jealous of all that land. How many acres?

That is turning out very nice! 13 acres is a LOT to manage!
TSmith - I think removal is the only option once they get in the habit of perpetually farming your turf for food. It's too bad, but that's what happens when they become overpopulated.

Im starting to feel like the mob and need to make sure I take out the entire family. One of these nights im just going to have to camp out on the patio like Rambo and get what I hope is the last of them
I decided to set the trap again and after seeing more digging today and the trap closed I hoped it was the last of the raccoons but unfortunately it was a possum which I don't think is the culprit that's been digging up my lawn so we try again tonight.

I ordered some seed for my dormant over seeding. Weather permitting I'll be seeding within the next week or so just in time for the next snow storm. Now I just need to pickup some peat moss.
