Mowed. Also used the weed hound on two dandelions.

I dug up some hop rhizomes yesterday and mailed them today.

So it has rained almost 7 inches in the past 5 days here in Nashville. According to my rain gauge. We have had lots of flooding and the ground is completely saturdated. Waiting for things to dry out so I can have an opportunity to get back outside. Luckily I was able to put out an app of Serenade/Companion and cracked corn before the rain on Thursday evening. Waiting in the rain to stop so I can start my Kelp Help/Soil conditioner apps!

Mowed yesterday morning even though it was a bit damp, but had to get it done. Spread a bag of Milo and some gypsum based on the soil test interpretation. Today a slow rain has set in so everything will be watered in nicely.

Got in a cut today as it finally stopped raining here in NJ. HOC 2.75". Things are growing pretty quickly now. It certainly needed it. The lawn also thickening up nicely. I sprayed Aerify Plus again as well and planted an azalea in the front bed.

I put a second dose of Tenacity down last night (@ 2 oz/a). I'm hoping to get kill all the Poa with one or two more apps as I want to save some for the fall. We shall see...

Mowed and edged. Put down pine pellets. Prepped a flower bed. The grass isn't uniform height yet. Half of it is still waking up and the other half is growing like gangbusters in dark green tufts the size of dinner plates. So after mowing, the lawn looks like it's covered in dark green lily pads or dark green polka dots.

Mowed at 3.5" and edged. Also made a flower bed in the corner of the yard where I planted a Hydrangea bush and two Hostas. My first time planting Hostas, I already love them.

Applied Serenade and tidied up a flower bed in the front. I think the grass is starting to gradually respond to the grains I've put on.

Put blsc/kh and mowed the back. I keep forgetting to add the yucca.

Got the first mow in at 3" but not all the grass was that high so it basically just leveled it off a bit. Given the upcoming week of rain and temps I expect it to take off nicely.

Haven't mowed quite yet, but put down Milo and did some spot spraying of WBG. The pots I put out on 4/1 are finally sprouting KBG, watering them 2x per day now and hoping I can use them by the end of May.

Finished edging everything from the renovation last fall, looks allot better without grass in all the mulch beds and fresh clean edging lines. Also did the first cut of the season, some of the grass near the pavement really needing cutting, but allot didn't. Wont fertilize until May even though a new KBG lawn could use it. The lawn is very green and healthy looking besides a few areas of Poa Annua which will be addressed with Tenacity in May when the lawn is really growing.

How much did you pay per bag and where did you get it?
$6.99/bag for the month of April. I get it from Ferris Farms in East Brunswick. Call or email Mike (the owner) ahead of time if you'll be picking up a lot and he'll set it aside for you and arrange for someone to help you load up.

Rumor has it he'll honor the $6.99 price for the rest of the year as long as you get over 30 bags, but I've always bought in April, so I'm not sure how true that is.

I watered some fescue transplants I stole from doing some edging earlier in the season. I added some dirt to an area and planted the fescue there. The transplanted grass was showing some drought stress as the roots aren't deep. Seeing the drought stress, I decided to just wait until Fall to seed the areas where I had stumps ground out. I have enough projects without babying some new turf through the summer. I'd probably lose it anyhow as I frequently leave town on business.

Cut and edged Sunday. Also re-seeded the strips alongside my driveway that were damaged (getting it replaced + belgian block installed).

Then today put down my first milo app at bag rate. It'll be a bit cold for two days, but forecast for tomorrow is well over an inch of rain, followed by a week of mid-70s. Figured 'twas a good time to get some poop-in-a-bag in the ecosystem!
