Put prodiamine down at split rate app. The chapin 20v is a breeze to use.
I did a bunch of seeding for the thin Reno of last year so tenacity it was. Looking at a JD mounted sprayer though. I'm getting too old.
Put peat down today and a bunch of black cow for the trees. Had about three wheel Barrows of twinge to pick up as well!

Raked and mulched the last of the oak leaves that held on through most of the winter. Picked up a winter's worth of dog poop. filling a 5 gallon bucket.
Raked then spread tupersan, Blueberry KBG seed, and milo in the front.

Undid as much as possible of the snow plow guy's "turf relocation program", now that the snow is finally gone.

Last year my neighbor decided to have their rock driveway plowed. The plow relocated the rocks all over my lawn. This year thankfully they didn't have it plowed lol

My backyard rises about 18" quickly from the parking area, and if a new/temporary guy is plowing, sod relocation occurs. I spend a good portion of the winter in Key Largo, so I discover the relocation program when the biggest piles melt.

1st cut today. Then laid down 10-10-10 fert.
Not happy with how inconsistent the lawn looks initially after winter.
Some hypergrowth in strips & dormancy in other parts of the lawn.
So from a distance the overall lawn looks dark in areas and light in others.
Hoping the fert will makes things better.
Next weekend is liming time.

Started to plant some shrubs. Discovered a 2x8 by 8ft treated buried at 3in on one side and 36in on the other. I was only able to get 2/3 out after using the hack saw. Thanks builder for wasting my day.
Then planted 6 bushes, one tree, transplanted 4 bushes, flowers and roses. I'm dead tired. I'm glad I mowed yesterday. It starting to look like it needs some nitrogen. 4 different neighbors stopped to ask how is it so green. I pointed them to use milorganite.
PS while digging, I spotted way too many full size white grubs. There where also a lot of earthworms, which I'm happy to see in my new construction soil.

Blew the last few of the autumn leaves out of the beds and mulch mowed them in. This was the first mow of the year. Sprayed Aerify (Will do so again In a couple weeks). Things are greening up nicely.

Yesterday, did more raking in spots.
Today, noticed serious green-up and a little growth happening.

My grass is so far ahead of almost everything else I saw...it's jumped past almost every other lawn due to the well-timed final winterizer app...even lawns that were initially ahead last month or in Feb.
Was in RI today, and it was the same story...greening up in some yards, but not in others. I didn't see anything resembling mine...so obviously I didn't go by lawns belonging to tlinden or other RI members.
Overall, the Forysthia were either slightly blooming or almost blooming everywhere I went, from Southern CT up through RI.

Raked out some of the dead snow mold/ ice damaged spots. Watered in the new brandywine maple tree. Transplanted the sod from tree install to some areas I've had trouble getting established grass. Also got the mower oil changed.

Mowed on Friday for the first time this season. Grass was actually a bit longer than I thought it was.
Also called a few lawn services around the area to ask about pricing to spread compost for me. My neighbor and I are going in together on a topdresser, but I was curious what people charge to spread. Amazing how few lawn services even know what compost is.
In fact, not only do they not know what compost is, they haven't a clue where to purchase it, even though the town I live in has their own compost facility.
