Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Did a quick renovation today on a 500 sq ft section raked , fertilized with 10-10-10 , tenaciity @ 4oz rate , seeded with lesco double eagle perenial rye and topped with peat. This 500 sq ft section is/was part of my 3500 sq ft area that im currently doing a full KBG ( everglade , award, bewitched) reno on , however germination on this isolated section was poor and I wanted something green there before it gets cold so I decided to go with the lesco double eagle . keeping my fingers crossed

Bahahahaha! Yeah I didn't do any 'soul' remediation that's for sure.ken-n-nancy wrote: ↑October 4th, 2017, 10:17 pmThis may be getting a little off-topic, but personally I'd suggest starting at BibleGateway.com.Green wrote: ↑October 4th, 2017, 9:41 pmSoul remediation. Looking good! I haven't been able to mow in ~14 days while seed is germinating. I'm dying here! Must. Do. Something. To. Yard. Patience.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Watered, including some more parts of low-input area.
Put down fertilizer tonight for Aunt and Uncle on their front lawn (Zone 7A - avg. first frost date~ Nov. 3rd). It had been a few years since it was last done. Used 5.25 lbs of 6-2-0 Milorganite, 2.25 lbs of 29-0-3 Jonathan Green, and 4 lbs of 10-10-10 over 1.5K area. It's supposed to rain in about 4 days. Spot sprayed a few Dandelions and other broadleafs with 2,4-D mix.

Most areas have fully germinated in my yard now. Put down and app of Pre-M (except for one area that I am trying to baby with seed and peat moss), and put out some Urea 46-0-0.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Apparently when I overseeded in September & watered everyday for 4 weeks, the wet grass caused neighbor's grass cutting service's machine slip on it & when they tried to catch it before falling off onto the roadway -basically took a 3 ft swatch out of my newly seeded front sidewalk median.
So had them give me a cup of seed -to repair the area.
Not expecting much in that area vs. my Southern Belle that I laid down elsewhere but at least I'll be able to see for sure if there is any sprouting.

Applied Serenade to my test area reno this afternoon due to rust that has formed
Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Hand watering TTTF/PRG overseed everyday for 7 days, no noticeable new leaf sprouts yet. Rain is forecasted. Germination is near.

Picked up some big sticks in the yard between rain showers. I swear we're getting all our September rain in a matter of a couple days.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Two mornings ago: watered side front zone for one hour (half inch).
Today: Mowed rest of non-overseeded front. Took small area near front sidewalk (mini reno from a few years ago) down to 3.25 in. Mowed low-input area. Mowed upper back at 3.25 in and bagged; mowed area behind deck at 2.75 in.
Watered seed areas.
Put down Scotts starter fertilizer on that area behind the deck. Put down 0.5 lb/K from 29-0-4 with 7% slow release on low-input area.

Just spread enough Vigoro Supergreen (35-0-5) to deliver .5 lb of nitrogen per 1000 square feet to lawn. Thunderstorms about to start

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Family coming over Tuesday and more rain predicted Tuesday. Of course that's when new edger and trimmer are arriving.
Got out and mowed at 3" for the last time this season. Used the flimsy Craftsman edger tethered to the 100' heavy duty extension cord...hopefully for the last time ever. Did a Bayer Dylox treatment and Urea. Last Dylox for the year. Will do a pre emergent for grubs next year. We had all sorts Japanese Beetles this year and lots of grubs this fall. Gave the sidewalk and driveway a blow, cleaned the leaves out of the street gutter. Watering in Urea and Dylox now.
Pry have one more Urea treatment for the year. Average first frost is the 16th so I could still do one next week.
Laughed to myself as my neighbor struggled with his corded blower to clean leaves off his lawn. He spent more time doing that than I did mowing, edging, and blowing. Enjoying mulch mowing so much this year.
I have some mulch to put down in a bed up front yet and then throw some in a bed in the back. Thanks to these forums my yard looks so much better as we come to a close this season than it ever has.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
I mowed yesterday, got up this morning, dropped the deck a notch and mowed again. Applied TSP per soil remediation plan and a light dose of urea to test reno area.
We've had a nice steady rain for about two hours now.

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
Cut at 2.75" and put down an extra app of Serenade (12th app of the season for a total of 39oz/M).
Had planned to be down to 2.25" by now, but grass is growing too fast. Mowing every 3 days still. Typically we would get our first frost around today but instead it is 75-degrees outside.
Neighbors dominated.

Finally got measurable rain...about 3/8th-inch this AM. More to come.
Put down fertilizer on grandfather's lawn. 18 lbs of Jonathan Green 29-X-X mixed with 50 lbs of 6-2-0 Milorganite.
Local lawn company fertilized neighbors about two weeks ago.
