Dimension and spring fertilizer timing question.

Post by Maizan24 » February 17th, 2017, 10:48 am

Just wondering if it is safe to apply dimension concurrently with fertilizer or should I spread the apps out a couple weeks? I have a bag of scotts that I got at work cheap so I was going to use that before switching to milo for summer and fall applications.

Is it "safe"? I would assume so since most of the Dimension available to consumers includes fertilizer.

However, the recommended timing for the pre-M ("when the forsythia starts to bloom" - around April 1 for me) and first fertilization (after Spring flush, if any synthetic at all in the Spring - around end of May for me) are completely different.

Yes I agree with micvog......while you can apply them together (think weed and feed bags), you don't want them going down at the same time here in early spring.

btw.....I don't like or use weed and feed products :)

As long as the fert doesn't have Pre-m in it, then you are fine. If it has pre-m then you could over apply.

No it's a 32 0 4. It doesn't have any weed prevention. I know they have a starter fertilizer with weed control mixed in but again this is not the same product.
