Weed or Rye grass?

I have this popping up in my lawn this year. It think it might rye grass as I had some annual rye pop up last year due to it being in the seed mix that was used on my lawn but thought that dies off after one year and doesn't come back?

If it grew for one year and didn't come back, wouldn't the species become extinct in one year?

Some of what you had set seed, if it is indeed Annual Ryegrass (I don't think those photos are close to food enough for an ID).

For some reason I thought there was a rye that dies out after a month or so and didn't come back but maybe I misunderstood and it just dies for the season and then comes back the following year. I guess it would go extincti if that were the case lol

Pretty sure it is annual rye but want to confirm
