I don't have pix, but it's simple. A 2' sprayer extension tube on the Tractor Supply 4gal sprayer. Don't overthink it.

If I remember, I'll take a pic on Saturday. It is underwhelming though.

When the wind blows, I hold it nearer the soil and spray parallel to the ground rather than down at the lawn. Always have - works well.

I still have no idea how you get a 6 foot spraying width with a 2 foot extension tube. I am picturing just a longer spraying wand but I don't get how that increases your spraying width by just making your wand longer.

As for spraying closer to the soil on a windy day I do that as well. Just get a little tighter to the lawn so you don't get yourself all soaked.

We're talking about the width of the area that gets covered by the left-to-right and right-to-left sweeps. I can sweep 3' to the left and 3' to the right as I back up - that's a 6' wide path.

Ah! So you're sweeping back and forth with the extension wand. I think many of us were stuck picturing a non-sweeping fan tip.

TimmyG! Lol...

Wait...

Is there a difference between sweeping and non-sweeping fan tip? Serious question.

I recently learned that you're not supposed to wave the wand back and forth with a fan tip...or so I thought.

You can do what you want with any tip. But when you need calibration, you hold a fan tip steady at a fixed height. A full cone nozzle is probably best when sweeping.

Thanks!

I use the fan tip for everything...even spot spraying. Not sure how I do it...but it just works for me. If I ever changed out the tip, I'd probably lose it.

I got ya with that but there is still a dilemma with my set up.

So, if my sprayer sprays 1 gallon of product out in about 8 1/2-9 1/2 minutes then I need to spend lets say 9 minutes in a 1000 sq. ft. area to get my desired 4oz of Serenade to 1 gallon of water on my 1000 sq. ft. area of grass. I walk at a normal pace with my fan tip nozzle at knee height which gives me about a 19" width of spray. It doesn't matter how much I spray 3' to the left and 3' to the right because I wouldn't be applying the right amount to that area. I need to spend 9 minutes no matter how big my swath is. Which is why I say it takes me that long to get my desired amount down in a 1000 sq. ft. area. Am I missing something to expedite my spraying or it is what it is with my sprayer?

This is probably what you are talking about as an extension to your wand. A vertical extension not a horizontal one like I was thinking. Any idea where to get a universal one for my HF sprayer?

I'm 99% sure that I got the "extension" from a Tractor Supply Store replacement wand kit. It's a straight-through extension.

Yep looks just like mine. Did you calibrate it to see how much comes at in certain amount of time or just roll with your sweeping motion technique? Thanks for the pic too.
