I suspect this is Perennial Ryegrass. I've noticed a handful of these appear in an area that had various weeds in it this past summer so I wasn't sure if it is PRG or Poa Annua. It's darker green than the rest of the turf, has a leaf mid-vein, and appears to have an auricle. Just thought I'd confirm PRG before I mistake them for POA and start hand pulling these up.
About a month and half ago I put down overseed TTTF/HBG (blue certified) mix, maybe there was some PRG contaminant. I did recently put down PRG to fill in bare areas, but I know those new seedlings can't be these bunches I'm seeing now.
Thanks
Confirm PRG Identification
Re: Confirm PRG Identification
The purplish stem base seems the PRG identification giveaway. I was just surprised how quickly these grew if in fact they originated when I overseeded on Aug 26. Must of been that nutritious Milorganite fertilizer.

PRG germinates very quickly, no doubt. Looks like it may have been in the seed, or maybe you didn't notice it before and it was there?
