Milorganite on Sale

Post by darkcrisis » October 18th, 2017, 1:59 pm

My local Walmart has Milorganite on clearance for $5/bag. You might want to check since people like me buy it all up when it is that cheap. Normal price here is $12/bag at every store so this is a steal for me!

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Will check around here and if that's the price I'll buy some for
Next year.

That's the cheapest I've heard of it. Ours got rid of all of the fertilizer and put out Christmas stuff. They do have a small section of potting soil out back though. It seems Wal-Mart is the place to go for end of the year fertilizers. I remember someone else saying they got a balanced for $2 a bag or something like that.

Our local Menards has milo for $7.73 after a $0.96 mail in rebate. The rebates there always come back as in store credit. There's always something to buy at Menards though.

I just looked online and my local store has it for $5.18/bag.

Going to go clean them out today on lunch!

Thanks for the heads up!

I will add to this. If one store near you doesn't have it, look at the others within a reasonable distance from you. I had to drive 20 minutes to a Walmart that actually sells it. This store is located in a more rural area.

Interestingly, being near Milwaukee where Milo is made, our regular price at Ace Hardware is $6, Menard's will sometimes go on sale for $5 (regular price ~$7), but the Walmart clearance prices never really apply because they never buy enough of it around here...they sell out too early.

Just checked here in KY, all of my local stores are showing out of stock. :(

I can only seem to find it at 2 of the Home Depots. Thinking about finding a wholesaler and buying a pallet this spring. I have a 2 acre lot with 55k ft of turf. Gets expensive buying at a per bag cost.

Ztrips the place I get my Urea sells the 50# bags of Milo too. Google around for an ag place or ask some friends where landscapers might get their supplies. SiteOne has a lot of locations and there might be one near you. Check there too.

Fleet farm ised to have it on sale for 5 sometimes during the year. I would then go to lowes and price match using my lowes card when i o.o nly had .25acres. It would drop their price from almost $13 to $4.65 a bag. I would stock up then. Its always fun to see the reciept show you saved more than you spent. The managers always hassled me to make sure the bags were the same since it was such a disount. But with 1.3 acres now at my new place that's going to get expensive even with the discount.

Milo is on sale here at Menards. What's interesting is that the Iowa stores are telling me they aren't getting anymore to stock, while the Illinois stores are. I'll have to find out more information about why.

I missed Farm and Fleet’s $6.99. Back to $8.99. If anyone catches anything online for a sale price, please post up again. I go to my local Lowe’s and have them price match.

Mill's Fleet Farm has it for $6/bag starting tomorrow, plus a 10% gift card for future purchases, making an effective price of $5.40.

Wonder if dung beetles are attracted to Milo.

Bought some bags today, I think they changed more than the packaging because now the bags emit some sort of sweet aroma, maybe they are trying to be more wife friendly?

These sales are always YMMV for walmart. I used brickseek and anywhere near me that has it on sale is permanently sold out.

I was wondering about that new fragrance, thought it was just me...
