Central Mass - Did I miss the winterizer opportunity?

Post by ReD-BaRoN » December 5th, 2017, 6:52 pm

Life got in the way of winterizing this year, but we really haven't had a deep freeze in the Worcester county area of Mass. Is it too late, and would I be wasting time and money putting it down now?

Nobody other than someone close to your place can answer that. If the grass stopped growing more than 3 weeks ago in your area, than root growth has probably stopped too. If not, maybe the door is still open.

Once the root growth stops, there is no value in putting down the winterizer. There are no "exceptions" to that...

This is one of those situations where taking the soil temp might help your conclusion by giving you more data that helps push you one way or the other, imho...
