Well I gambled and lost, had about 2 dry hours and then drizzle. Not a lot of rain, very light, but enough to dilute the tenacity input down if it wasn’t absorbed yet.

Worse case I wasted what I put down. I’m at day 10 since the blanket app. I’ll see how much bleaching I get next week and shoot for another spot app next week if needed, if the hurricane moves in not sure what to expect.

Above all just really need the KBG to start growing well again, it really took a beating over
the summer.

Couldn't ask for a better day 24 hrs after applying SOP and Scotts TurfBuilder 32 0 4 fertilizer.
A nice gentle rain falling all day.
Perfect! :good:

Still watering seed.

Mowed grandfather's lawn and watered seed. Dad watered it yesterday.

Cut the grass to 3" on Saturday and did a little shady mix overseeding in the back yard with peat moss on Sunday. Remnants of Hurricane Florence hit around lunchtime, so it looks like rain for a few days.

Been out of town, mowed yesterday and dropped my first urea of the year. A bit nervous as a first timer on the urea, but... :)

I was hoping for rain to water it in, but as frequently happens, the rain splits in two just as it gets to the Quad Cities, so I ran irrigation. Neighbors must think I'm nuts watering the lawn when it looks like it's going to rain. lol

Lots of rain from Florence caused me to actually raise my deck as I missed a regularly scheduled mowing. A few hours after I mowed with a raised deck, I lowered back to “normal” height and mowed again. I’ve been having issues with hip pain and I’m struggling to stay on top of everything. I’m hopeful to lower the deck for fall mowing heights (possibly tomorrow) and then I’ll need to find Milorganite this weekend to stay on track of my soil remediation plan.
My transplanted sod, new sod and patch reno spots are all doing well.

I sprayed FS (not FAS) for the first time today. I sprayed 2oz/k on the TTTF back yard. I plan to rinse it off tomorrow morning. I'm curious to see how it turns out. This was more of a test since I need to more in the next couple of days.

I'm not sure if the lawn can taste it but I can.

Mowing every four days (that’s what my schedule allows), 3 days or 2 days would be better. Aggressive fall N aps really do generate copious amounts of OM thru clippings! And I’m going aggressive ‘lite” with a northern mix (average .25# N urea weekly), however I’ve been feathering in milog since 8/15 (my own personal mod to the program). I have to go slowly with the tractor, feeling it drag…

Grass is growing... lots of rain from Florence earlier in the week and again on Friday night. I also raised the deck from 3" to 3.5" due to growth and cut. My new cub did a good job mulching the grass and leaves that have starting coming down.

Spot sprayed (6 gallons since I have a ton of clover and other weeds on 15k of lawn) of Bayer All-in-One (2,4-D 4.85% & Quinclorac 1.61%, Dicamba 0.45%) on grassy weeds, clover and other various weeds.

I also felt like an idiot as I blew leaves from the surrounding wooded areas of my yard onto the grass for mulching. Andy would have been proud :good:

I *AM* proud as long as you made sure that the woods wasn't covered in Stiltgrass

Edged the lawn, that was fun with the amount of overgrowth, errr! Took the stakes and caution tape off my small bewitched reno yesterday and mowed it for the first time. The new grass is looking pretty good, some thin spots where water pools. All good here

Applied 3 pounds of urea to 2880 sq feet of side yard on new 100 percent kbg establishment for .5 lbs n/k and irrigated it until I didn't see round white pellets anymore. Grass is clearly out of sprout and pout in this area. Excited to see if this will launch it into Uber thickening mode with daytime temps in 60s-70s and night time in 40s-50s. Also hand watered surviving grass in front yard where irrigation is out of commission and I'm waiting for landscaper to finish up grading. Not applying urea here since hard to keep up with hand watering.

Been out of town for a week, come back to see another outbreak of rust in my lawn. :sigh:

Mowed, washed the mower off. Today I dropped urea and watered it in.

3.75 inches of rain and counting. My seed is underwater and the peat moss is flowing downstream. My neighbor is getting a free reseed.

Green What a bummer.
quietly wished I was your neighbor. I could have used a free reseed in my backyard.
All I get from my neighbor are dandelion puffy seeds.
Oh and those oak leaves right up until mid novermber. Free OM.

The rain has been relentless here also.
Another 1 3/4"+ and very high winds expected this afternoon when the front moves in.
That makes a total of almost 4" in 48 hours.
They say due to the ground being saturated and the high winds, the threat from trees uprooting is high.
I always worry about my neighbors big oak right across from my driveway.

Today, I hope the grass dries enough to mow it, but I'm not holding my breath.
